Production
Episode in a comedy-drama series following events at fictional village halls.  Tempers flare when the Mother's Union decides to stage a beauty contest in place of its traditional May Queen gala.  Six young hopefuls, all eager to be crowned Miss Health and Beauty, compete for the chance to win prizes including a trip to Majorca and a fish-and-chip supper!

Notes
Zoë was interviewed about her role in 'Miss Health and Beauty' shortly before the programme was originally broadcast.  She described her character, Shirley Chatsfield, as 'a dowdy North country girl, simple and not very clever'.
