Notes |
| In a recent
newspaper interview, Zoë cited this production as a
turning point in her career: 'I was doing Piaf with Jane
Lapotaire, and I never knew what to do with my hands.
Suddenly I realised I wasn't thinking about my hands. I
was thinking about who the person was, and that for me
was a great feeling of achievement - something as stupid
and as simple as that.' |
In 1981, Jane Lapotaire won a Tony award for Best
Actress in a Play, for her performance in Piaf on
Broadway. She later appeared alongside Zoe again in the BBC's Love
Hurts, broadcast in the early 1990s. Jane played Rabbi Diane Warburg in series one and two of the
popular romantic drama. |
